For a brief amount of time I saw color in the leaves, clouds in the sky, and beauty in this ugly place. She showed me it all. She opened me up and took it all in, piece by piece—mind, body, and soul. I was enamored, falling faster than I’ve ever fallen. Just when I didn’t think I’d ever fall again. She numbed the pain, but only temporarily. Now, here I am reaping the rewards, shattered into those thousand shards of glass again and I’ll continue to live my life bleeding on those who didn’t cut me—even more convinced than ever that love is my worst enemy.
