Deko did not pick his captains based on good nature but on their ability to brutalise and instill terror into his subjects. I learned a lot from Deko even before I had the pleasure of meeting him.
Prig and the other leaders were terrifying, they beat them bloody, breaking bones and killing if they wanted. The wounds were horrible and you really felt for the characters for having to endure them.
