Maybe it was because the darkness inside of me was a shade darker than anything else the world might throw at me.
I LOVED the part where she encountered Ssserakis (and love that it was called that, every time you say it, it sounds like a slithering snake). This part of the book brought the two different stories together for the first time. I'm looking forward to how this develops in the future books.
