Because you know what’s more satisfying to me than beating the living hell out of him, Blue?”
“You doing it,” he breathed with a seductive grin. “He’s all yours, beautiful. I want you to make him scream.
Seth Capella has written his fate in the stars. She’s coming for him like a monster in the night. And her name is Darcy Vega.”
Darius was leaning against the wall in his running gear like usual, his eyes brightening as I stepped out and my gaze locked on his.
Fuck, I didn’t realise I had a Prince Charming fantasy until right now.
Darius was no Prince Charming, more like a prince of darkness and he’d already corrupted me beyond recognition.
“My boy, I’d come for you if you were held by a million Nymphs. There’re no lengths I wouldn’t go to.”
“They came from over the hill to slay, the monsters, beasts and bullies. The princesses came with their shiny crowns, two beauties in their flowing gowns. And so they shouted, away, away, away!”
“The monsters said we’re here to stay, raising forks and sticks and sharpened picks. The princesses came with their silver blades, two beauties with their loyal maids. And so they shouted, away, away, away!”
“The beasts they laughed with their hearts so black, they pushed, they fought, and they attacked. But the princesses came with a swirl and a swoosh, and pushed those beasties in the Lake of Multush. And so they shouted, away, away, away!”
“The bullies they smiled, and they jeered the town, they jibed, they battered and made everyone frown. The princesses showed them the strength of their souls, no bully could make a dent on their walls. And so they shouted, away, away, away!”
“Phoenix fire burns through bullshit,”
It wasn’t pretty or simple or easy, but it was life. And life just got messy sometimes even when you didn’t mean for it to.
Mission: Defy the Stars.
He had morning stubble and bed hair. It was my favourite look on him. Effortlessly fucking gorgeous. It was a serious shame he was straight. Well, at least when he was sober.
“I’m just a creature forged by circumstance.”
“The stars might have decided that you can never be mine,” Darius said roughly, refusing to move away from me. “But I am yours. No matter what. I don’t care where we end up or who we’re with, I’ll always be yours. And I’m going to fix the damage I did to us even if the stars don’t care. I’m going to prove to you that I could have been worthy of you if I’d just listened to my heart sooner.”
“Zodiac will not be beat. Zodiac can take the heat!”
This was Rosalie Oscura, the best Earthraider in the school league, or so Orion had told us.
what was the difference between being bad and good anyway? It just came down to people’s opinions. All situations were neutral until someone formed an opinion about them. So, to a lot of people, I was a great guy. But maybe that didn’t matter if the people you cared about thought you were bad.
“Look, sometimes we want to see the good in people we care about so much that we pretend it’s there, living under all the layers of cruelty. But the fact is, Diego, some people are toxic. And if you keep them in your life, they’ll poison everything good in your world until you end up being just like them. And that’s a far worse fate than going against the grain and making your own path. Even if that means you’re alone.”
I’d never had that all-consuming first love everyone talked about during my school years. I’d thought it wasn’t for me. But I guessed the stars had decided to keep me waiting a little longer. And now I had it, I was determined for this love to be my one and only. My last and everlasting.
“You’ve done a thousand things to earn it, Lance. You make me so happy, you’ve taught me to trust again, you’ve helped me become a true Fae.”
I could have said a thousand bad things about Darius Acrux, but the best ones shone brighter, outweighing them so they were all I could see.
The flag was black with a golden mountain at the base of it, rising up to the sun, the moon and the twelve zodiac constellations above.
Not Darius Acrux hot. But I’d always had a thing for danger and darkness and wrap that combination up in a bundle of muscle and you basically had yourself some Tory kryptonite. Damn hot douchebags, I always knew they’d be my downfall.
One way or another, whatever it took, Lionel Acrux was going to meet his end. He was going to die.
I’d just want to be able to hold you in my arms,” he replied. “Just to wake up with you there, knowing you were safe.”
They may have forced us apart, but my lips still tingled with the memory of Darius’s mouth on mine. And if we’d managed to steal that much then I was going to figure out how to claim a whole lot more. I’d been a thief for a long time and if I had to take my destiny from the clutches of the stars while they slept, then I’d figure out a way to do it. I’d never set my mind on something and failed before. And this wouldn’t be the first time.
“I already told you I love you, Roxy,” I growled, and her eyes widened as she looked up at me in surprise. “But now I’m telling you I want you too. Only you. No matter what it takes to make that happen.”
“Because in my heart I know I deserved the answer you gave me,” I replied honestly. “I wasn’t worthy of your love then and I’m still not worthy of it now. But if you gave me forever then I’d spend every second of it trying to be.”
Darius was savage, brutal, vicious, broken and mine.
I wanted him. Every damaged, depraved, dirty piece of his soul was made to fit with all the twisted, ruined parts of my own.
