She attempted to channel her feelings into a corner of her brain where she could cover them and store them and keep them at bay the way she did with other troubling thoughts that constantly bombarded her and threatened to derail her life. Every day brought a funneling twister of emotions. It was how her brain waves fired. If she wasn’t worrying, she was obsessing. And if she wasn’t obsessing, she was planning. Her mind never really settled down. There was always a low hum of activity going on in her head.
