It intrigues us, this human notion of a ‘fairer sex’. Male pigeons can’t be told apart from female pigeons on the basis of colour. The concept of the ‘weaker sex’ is even more incomprehensible to us. Male and female pigeons equally grunt, growl, peck and flap their wings to protect their nest and their young ones against threats.
