With All Due Respect: Defending America with Grit and Grace

We are all much more than the sum of our labels.

We don’t need a different America. All of us need to show less entitlement and more gratitude for the universal principles that have made our nation great and will make it greater in the future.

Whatever you do, be great at it and make sure people remember you for it.

If God has another door for me, He will show it.

I’ve always believed the best way to appreciate God’s blessings is to give back. But to really work to lift up everyone and make lives better, you have to be willing to shake things up.

Our educational system needs to apply this idea.

That fight hurt, but I learned a lot from it. When you try to make a difference, there are always going to be people who want to stop you.

Standing for principle takes courage—courage to put yourself out there in the first place, courage to stand tall when others try to knock you down, courage to see your vision through, no matter how long it takes. Refusing to try, failing to dream, would be the biggest tragedy of all.

Don’t shy away from the fight because it might be hard. Know that it will be hard. The best fights, the best ideas, are hard. They are also the most worthwhile.
