Frank’s divorced father, Robert, frequently called him in the middle of the night after drinking heavily. Robert often locked himself out of his apartment and called Frank to come get him. When Robert became ill, he asked Frank to stay at the hospital with him “because I don’t have anyone else.” Frank couldn’t say no because his father sounded so pitiful.
