Review and Preview In this chapter, we have begun a systematic exploration of how stories change lives. Our exploration followed a simple two-dimensional map: on the x-axis, around ten typical impacts stories have on readers; on the y-axis, five elements of story. This map links story impact to story element(s), whilst recognizing the holistic experience of reading.
