Tom likes the neutral color because it matches everything. I think Tom wants to pretend that he’s neutral and boring, when we all know he’s covering a snake tattoo on his forearm that he got when he wasn’t neutral and boring.
But more doesn’t always equal love.
“Color. That’s an interesting name.” “I know. It’s kind of weird. But my mom said that the world needs more color, and so she gave the world me, which is actually kind of beautiful.” Color takes another sip. “That’s my mom for you. Weird at times. Beautiful at times.”
She laughs, and it echoes across the parking lot, and suddenly everywhere around me is full of Color. “I
trust is handing over a piece of your heart to someone and believing they’ll hold it as delicately as you do.
As if I didn’t already have abandonment issues.
