Apostles are pathfinders. A pathfinder discovers a way, especially by exploring untraversed regions to mark out a new route. Pioneers are the first to enter, whether new geographic regions or new regions of knowledge. As they break into new regions, they leave a heritage for others to follow, a spiritual legacy for those who will come after. This ministry precedes and opens the way for others. The early apostles left a spiritual legacy for the Church to follow, and we all have inherited it.
