This is the basic definition of the word apostle: It comes from the Greek word apostolos, meaning a delegate, an ambassador of the Gospel, officially a commissioner of Christ (with miraculous powers), a messenger, he that is sent. Before this word found its way into our Bible, it was a secular term used by the Greeks and Romans to describe special envoys who were sent out for the purpose of expanding the dominion of the empire.
They were also responsible for teaching and training the new subjects in the laws and culture of the kingdom.
These envoys were given power and authority from the king to fulfill their mission. They were responsible for fulfilling their
commissions and were given everything they needed to succeed. They were highly intelligent and gifted individuals, specially chosen for the task. They were sent to certain territories and charged to subdue, conquer, convert, instruct, tr...

They were sent into the territories of the earth to convert multitudes of people and incorporate them into the Kingdom of God.
Apostles were sent to establish the Kingdom in the hearts of people and to establish churches throughout the world. They were given the power of the Holy Spirit to help them fulfill this mission.
The apostles will have a greater measure of the apostolic dimension upon their lives to impart and stir up this anointing in the saints.
When saints become aware of and begin to walk in this dimension of the Spirit, they will manifest the power, authority and characteristics of a sent one.

God wants to bring restoration and restitution to your life, in personal areas as well as in areas of ministry.
Although the office of the apostle has been vacant at times because of the unbelief and tradition of the Church, it is now being filled again by those chosen of the Lord. Our doctrine is being corrected, and we are crying, “Restore!”
Another synonym for commission is mandate, an authoritative order or a command.
And now the Lord is also raising up apostolic and prophetic ministry to the nations. The Great Commission is an apostolic commission.
The Lord is raising up a new breed of believers with an apostolic and prophetic anointing to shake nations and establish strong local churches.
Dear evangelist, pastor and teacher, do not fight the apostles and prophets the Lord is raising up. They are needed in order to fulfill the Great Commission, just as you are. They are beginning to recognize who they are and what their purpose is. When they have received their commission and the anointing to fulfill their mandate, they will be a blessing to the Body of Christ and to the nations.
What we need to fulfill the Great Commission are ambassadors and diplomats raised up and sent by the Lord, not people sent by men.
It is amazing how many churches do not recognize this order, although it is plainly stated in the Word of God. It is too simple to miss. First means first, second means second, third means third. It is as easy as one, two, three.
They are often the first to preach certain revelations that God is releasing to the Church.
True apostles must manifest the character of Christ and never use their authority in the wrong way; to do so will bring the judgment of God.
Apostles walk and minister in the highest rank, sufficient to command, decree and rebuke with authority within their spheres of authority. Evil spirits and angels recognize it.
Apostles have rank in the areas they have been assigned by God. They cannot go just anywhere and claim rank over just anyone. The apostle Paul talked about not going beyond his measure in 2 Corinthians 10:14; the Moffatt translation says, “I am not overstepping the limit, as if you lay beyond my sphere.”
The apostolic prepares and opens the way for the prophetic; the prophetic in turn prepares and opens the way for the teaching. One precedes and paves the way for the next. Each gift and ministry is designed by God in this way to open the way for the other to follow. Each territory needs all three operating in order to establish God’s purposes in that region.
Apostleship, therefore, is an essential part of the Church. It is not optional but rather indispensable. The Lord is raising up a company of apostolic people and churches that will be the core around which others will gather and function.
We are to serve God in newness of spirit (Romans 7:6) and to “sing to Him a new song” (Psalm 33:3). To do that we must constantly receive fresh oil.
New moves are apostolic. Someone has to initiate the new moves that have been prophetically spoken. That someone is the pioneer. Pioneering
Every generation and every age needs pioneers. Humans have a tendency to remain the same and sometimes even revert. Pioneers motivate and push us to go forward. They expand us and help us break through the barriers that keep us from progressing. They
shake us from complacency, stir us to do more and motivate us to reach a goal.

The apostolic spirit gives the ability to lay foundations for our generation. Without this dimension, a whole generation can be lost.
When a church does not have the apostolic anointing at its core, stagnation is the result. It no longer moves or flows; it shows no sign of activity or advancement; it does not develop or progress. Stagnation means to come to a standstill.
Pioneers, on the other hand, advance, progress, gain ground and conquer territory. They are usually men and women of extraordinary courage, talent, vision and ability, able to succeed in the face of overwhelming odds. They will eventually succeed and flourish.
