revelation. Revelation in its most exalted form happens to someone, as in Paul’s experience on the road to Damascus. The focus in revelation is on God’s salvific action in which God acts as the agent, even though revelation remains a human experience. In contrast, revelatory experiencing draws attention to the human role in preparing for, receiving, and participating in processes of Spirit.
