As soon as I leave the stage, I bend over to catch my breath before heading to the dressing room. I do not intend to stick around for the rest of the show. The last thing I want to deal with is everyone’s eyes on me. After all, they stood up and clapped, so that has to mean something, right? It’s the most attention any of them has given me since I started freshman year. Once my things are in my bag, the back entrance to the farthest parking lot is my destination.
