“You’re staring again,” he said quietly, a smug smile tilting the side of his mediocre mouth. Okay, you know what? “You keep saying that like you’re not staring right back.”

“Sorry,” he eventually said, amusement tilting his deep voice. “I didn’t hear him come out over the deafening sound of all the chemistry we don’t have.”

“I literally can’t remember a time when we weren’t fighting.” It must have been nice. Peaceful. Quiet. “That’s very sweet. I can’t remember a time before you either, Sanchez.” His dimples flashed.

“You’re staring again, Sanchez,” Adrien eventually murmured. “And you keep saying that like you’re not staring right back, Cloutier.”

“You can yell at me in the car while I force-feed you fries.” “Oh,” I said. And then, “All right.”
