He looked straight into Tem’s eyes as he delivered his final line. “Somehow I always find my way back to you.”
Bravery is often the bedmate to fear. One cannot be brave unless one is afraid.
“I was your first love, Tem,” Caspen whispered. “He will be your last.”
You are perfect, Tem. I will not allow you to think otherwise.
How long have you loved me? Far longer than you have loved me.
Apollo sent his own gift—an enormous bouquet of deep purple and red flowers. The color of a bruise. Complex. And beautiful. Just like you.
I love covetously. I love greedily and without regard for others. I swore I would never hurt you, and I have broken that promise many times over. I pray you forgive me. All I ask is that you remember me the way I was—before my anger took my kindness. I should never have married you. I do not say that to hurt you, so please do not take it that way. What I mean to say is that my love for you was selfish.
It has been the greatest honor of my life to love you. I only hope I was worthy of your love in return. Yours, Caspen
