“Plus, Echo still doesn’t like you,” Charlie continues, finally sharing the real reason I wasn’t invited. You hit a female in the throat once, and suddenly, she’s got a lifelong grudge against you. I still believe it was her fault for running through the portal like that, and if Chev could get over it, then she should, too.

Cassia falls on my face, her knee digging into my neck. I hiss. “Fuck!” I pick Cassia up, and Charlie kicks my foot. “Aziel,” she scolds. “Watch your language!” I personally think Cassia should watch where she’s burying her knees, but I’m going to keep that particular thought to myself.
