Tonight wasn’t a total loss after all, not when I just found my latest obsession.

A seriousness settles over our conversation and I’m in awe I’m opening up this way. Something about him invites me in and encourages me to say all the things that weigh heavily on my mind.

“All right, let’s talk.” I wrack my brain for which question I want to ask first. “So, do you deposit your paychecks at the blood bank?”
“Pretty sure you’re getting seconds, are you?” I tease. He growls, biting the crook of my neck. His fangs have receded for now. “I’m getting forever, love.”
Strawberries create eyes, chocolate chips make a smile, and whipped cream finishes it off with fangs for a perfect vampire smiley.

Zavier choosing to keep it a secret especially when he knew we were mates and growing closer is a stab to the heart though. I want our relationship to be based on honesty and sometimes that means hard truths.
