“Are you in love with her?” He let his head drop, laughing quietly as he pulled out a chair at the table and sank down heavily in it. Stretching his legs out in front of himself, he rested his hands on his stomach, one on top of the other, and looked up to meet my gaze. “No,” he said simply. And then, immediately, “Yes?”
Feel the pain you’ve been given, Carrion. Don’t be fool enough to ask for more. It’s a curse I would spare you from, believe me.”
“It’ll only happen when you’re thinking”—he ran his tongue over his bottom lip—“very bad thoughts.”
He grinned, then, his whole face lighting up; it was like the sun breaking through the clouds. “Good girl. Don’t worry. You won’t have to wait much longer.”
“Sweet fucking mercy,” he panted. “Kill me. Sit on my face and ride my tongue until I fucking die. I can’t take it anymore.”
