Violet blue. His favorite color to see…and also the sound of my voice. If my failing heart hadn’t let him in before, it did just then.
When I entered Bonnie’s room, it didn’t matter to me that she was lying on the bed, a plastic tube flowing oxygen into her body through her nose; she was still the most perfect thing I’d ever seen.
I needed her, and I wasn’t sure what the hell I’d do if I didn’t have her in my life. So I would wait. I’d wait for her to wake. And we’d pray for a heart. Or I was pretty sure I’d lose the beat in mine.
I would forever chase the violet blue.
He was our home.
