A spark of anger flared inside my belly. “Trust me, I got it. If I get dementia and forget everything, your name will still haunt me. Your not-girlfriend’s moans are burned into my brain. Rooooh-moooh-lo. Rooooh-moooh-lo.”
“Simple. You. Me. A sturdy bed with a headboard, and a box of condoms. Remember how you said I hadn’t earned you moaning my name? Let me fucking earn it.”
My face twitched. Was she crazy? She still wanted to fuck tonight?
“The territory you waded into when you slept with a gangster.”
Good girls didn’t sleep with gangsters. But maybe I was tired of being good.
“Baby, what’s wrong?”
“I love you.” The words scorched their way out of me. “I love you like I’ve never loved anything in my goddamn life. It’s terrifying. It’s relentless. You’ve gotten under my skin and into my soul, and you didn’t even try. Somewhere along the way, I stopped being mine and became yours.”
I kissed her like a man finally touching heaven after crawling through the pits of hell.
And then I sank to the floor, slid off her panties, and devoured her. Her moans filled the room. I could live a thousand lives and never get enough of this.
