For with God, nothing will be impossible. I lived by that and had tatted Luke 1:37 on my forearm.
But the cooking, cleaning up, and offering to do shit for us ain’t necessary, bro. It’s a little insulting actually because ain’t no conditions on what the fuck I do for the people I love.”
Women had been throwing themselves at me since I was old enough to understand what it meant, but I chose to wait because it was what God wanted me to do.
The vibrations I felt through his chest due to me being pressed against him and the hint of mint I caught on his breath when he laughed had me so discombobulated. I hadn’t ever in my life felt this way before.
When he held me close, I felt warm, secure, protected, but when he let me go I felt… empty.
“Don’t be surprised when God changes everything you’re going through to everything you made it through. Your breakthrough is closer than you think.”
“I keep telling you to go on about ya business, but you pushing it, aight? You drunk and tryna flex ya lil muscles, but I’m the wrong nigga to do that with. Please take heed to my warning and move along, bro.”
Something about this man’s aura had me trapped, but the craziest thing was I wasn’t trying to escape. Instead of running from it, I was drawn to the feeling like a moth to a flame.
“If you do that shit, I understand, feel me? I wanted to marry KK the first time I saw her ass and I probably would have if she had let me. So if you do that shit, you got my full support.”
“He ain’t going to jail or no shit,” Solomon let it be known. “You gon’ have to take us both to that bitch and I promise you gon’ need way more than you to do that shit.”
“I’ve been texting and calling since you canceled our plans. When you didn’t respond, I figured you wanted to see me in person.”
This thing with us was supposed to be a business arrangement but each time I even heard Alana’s voice, something inside of me grew and my soul drew closer to hers. It made my day to hear her laugh or see her beautiful smiling face. Hell, I even saw it in my sleep sometimes. There weren’t many moments in my day that she wasn’t on my mind and it had been like that since I saved her life the day we met.
“You have the power to bring me to my knees already and we’ve only been married for a few hours.”
“What’s not real between us, Alana?” Reaching for my free hand, he placed it over his heart. “You feel how fast my heart is beating?” I nodded. “It’s like that every time I see you or hear your voice. The reason for the union may be business, but the way you make me feel is very real, beautiful. This isn’t just business for me.”
And if I could choose any other woman on earth to be with and do this with, it would always be you.”
“You’re perfect,” he countered then stared at me. “I lay in bed at night in disbelief that you’re really my wife.” “I’m nobody,” I said coyly. “You’re everything I prayed for.”
“I’m sure you’re used to talking to and about him in a fucked up way and he allows it because for whatever reason he loves you, but Mrs. Tate, I do not share that sentiment and will fuck you up for playing games with my man, okay? He’s a good man that actually came from a pretty shitty family, but he has me and mine now and well, I’m sure you know what comes with being a Powers, right?” I smirked. “So, when it comes down to my husband…” I stepped a little closer. “Well, just don’t let it come down to my husband. Okay?”
“I’m pretty sure I’ve loved you since the moment I grabbed you from under that falling lumber.” “Same.” I smiled.
I always said I want that kind of love where we pray together, worship together, and serve God together. You do that with and for me, so yeah, I’ll follow you to the end of the world for real if you want.”
