“I’m God,” the dark-skinned, now clothed man says in response to me asking him who the hell he is.
I feel Aiden lean down towards me. “I dare you to keep looking at him like that,” he threatens.
Aiden felt a disturbance in the force and came to check up on me. That’s what I’m calling our weird connection. The force.
“Humans have gotten ruder since I’ve been gone.
Aiden’s phone disappears from his hand.
“What don’t you humans understand? I’m God,” he lies again.
“After one thousand years of being imprisoned, I finally get to look you in the eyes again.”
“Aren’t you going to greet me, my love?”
“Look at the chaos you’ve already started, Deus.” His grin widens. “Whose fault is that, wife?” “All yours, husband.”
“Ah, Yirah. None of these humans know who you truly are?”
“Your dear Yirah isn’t a reaper nor has she ever been human.
She is the one who created reapers…who created Eden. Allow me to properly introduce us. I’m a god and she is also a god.
Thanos did it better.
“He grew bitter at creation and wanted to destroy everything and begin anew. I told him there was so much beauty and love in humans.
The only way to stop Deus was to imprison him inside of me—”
I created Eden and reapers
“Well, shit,”
“Must be my turn in Jumanji.”
There have been plenty of times when I wanted to hold her upside down and shake some common sense into her.
Wait, is she screaming spells from Harry Potter at them?
“Baby, relax. I’ve been doing just fine.”
“Baby, there’s not a single thing about you that I don’t notice. You’re all I see.”
“I need you inside of me,” she pleads. My girl is greedy and I love it.
“If I knew I would have met the perfect man in the afterlife, I would’ve died sooner,” I tease, smiling at him.
Erin Cooper. Sixty-one years old. Married. Three kids. Worked as a nurse. No criminal history. Interesting. This Karmic system really is a bitch.
Once I get her complete Karma report, it will make it easier to analyze it.
“Taevian. His name is Taevian Jackson.”
The door to the office is thrown open as Aiden rushes straight to me,
He cups my face in his hands. “Baby, what’s wrong? I can feel your panic.”
“Sh-she’s my mother,” I blubber like a fool. “Her first husband got hit by a car.
Aiden gives me a kiss on my forehead. “What do you need right now?” He asks softly. “What can I do for you?”
“I can’t feel him, which means that he must be in his celestial form.”
We are light and dark. Day and Night. Yin and Yang. One cannot exist without the other.”
Why can’t she ever just listen to me the first time? Why must I go back and forth with this woman?
I gave her everything over and over again, but she chose humans. She always chooses them.
But imagine how much it would pain Yirah to watch her humans suffer for eternity. And the best part is she won’t see it coming.
If I didn’t hinder Joyce, I have no doubt she would’ve figured out my plan.
Did I get a tattoo? “Who the hell are you?” A deep voice rumbles next to me. I let out a scream and struggle to get out of the bed, but end up falling flat on my back.
“Long story short. You two don’t remember each other because of the soul bomb.
“Here’s the red pill, buddy. Let’s see just how deep into the rabbit hole I can drag your ass.”
“Well, I’m about to run around this bitch like a tomb raider.
Aiden booms from across the room. We turn to look at him. “I recommend you find something safe to do because talking to her like that? Not safe at all.”
I need him to want me just as much as I want him.
I’m embarrassed. I stayed up all night beating myself up for how I treated her without my memories.
I got my memories back, but what if she never gets hers back?
My attempt to teleport out fails, but I don’t fret on it. I turn to get out, but the door won’t budge.
Who’s powerful enough to let him out?
Aiden’s eyes soften. “I don’t care if you’re a grown woman. You’re my woman. So if you’re here. Then I’m here.”
Yes, I needed a man to save me. My man.
“There will never be enough time to love someone. All you get are moments.”
