“Your brother bet me a burger and a beer I couldn’t get it before the end of a workday.” He patted his belly in satisfaction. “That burger was worth the bruises.”

Cat rolled her eyes. “Ugh. Please. You’re going to make me throw up the six pounds of fettuccini I just ate.”
But the point of working hard isn’t really getting people to notice how hard you work. It’s about giving it your all and being able to walk away with no regrets. Doing a good job shouldn’t be so someone else tells you that you did good. It should be about you feeling good about your effort.”
You’re the color in a gray day. I don’t know how else to describe it. I look at you, and I see all this passion and joy and fun and excitement. I’ve never met anyone like you.
“Are you hangry? Because if you are, I can share my special paleo salted caramel brownies from Mrs. Pringle. I’d prefer not to, but I’m willing.”
