The corner of his lip kicks up and he sets a hand on the wall behind me. “No one’s kicked me out before and I didn’t like it.”
“Great. Our psychopath meets his match and now our lives are in their twisted hands.”
I close my eyes and think of his last words. “I love you, Gallows. Leave me behind.”
“Every time you talk, I want to shove my cock into your mouth. Stop fucking pushing me or I won’t be so nice.”
“How about you wash yourself off of me, Bunny? I only like your blood when it’s fresh.” Bradshaw unzips his pants and frees his dick.
I’m going straight to hell when I die. For all the death on my hands. Further down, if there is something lower than hell, for what I’m about to do with the devil.
A low laugh rolls from deep in his chest. “Don’t worry, I left your underwear, you’ll need those to hold in my come.”
Hatred and desire aren’t so different. Both are an obsessive, all-consuming emotion. It’s a thin line to walk on.

She’s too easy to talk to. If I’m not careful I’d tell her all my secrets, hopes, and dreams. I’d tell her everything.

I like the way broken men grieve. It gives me pause and makes me curious about the harrowing things he still has locked up so tight.
“I want to dominate you. I want to break you into a million pieces and make you answer only to me. I want to keep you as far away from my squad as possible before I ruin what’s left of you. Because if you don’t leave, that’s what’s going to happen. I’ll break you, just like I break everything. Is that enough? Will you shut the fuck up now?” He says slowly, cruelly, while squeezing my jaw.
I want to run my thumb over her bottom lip and tell her she makes my chest ache when she looks at me so tenderly. I want to tell her that the nights I laid beside her were the only ones I slept peacefully in fucking years. I want to tell her that I fucking missed her.
Instead we’re two wounded creatures, circling one another in our cage, curious about what will happen if we give in and collide.

“Stare into the mirror and watch me consume you. I won’t stop until you're trembling in my arms.” He slips a mirror shard into my hand. “And I want you to punish me until you can forgive me for what I’ve done to you. For everything. I want you to make your mark on me, Bunny. Punish me so I can forgive me,” he begs in a low voice.
“You are where my sanity starts,” he murmurs gravely, his jaw setting and brows knitting. He hates to admit these things to me—that much is obvious. But it warms my chest that he shares it with me anyway. “You are where mine ends,” I whisper back.
I love you. I shouldn’t, but I do.
“There is no life without you. There wasn’t one before, there sure as fuck won’t be one after,” he whispers.
“He looked at you and I saw the weight of the universe in his eyes.”
“My love is enough for the both of us. As long as you know you are my world, it is enough.”
“It’s the monster in me,” I manage to say between hushed moans. His brow raises. “That craves the one in you.”
“He treated me like a queen. I never wanted for anything.” Oh. Am I too late… “Anything but for you. I could never love him like I do you, Bradshaw. He was good to me… but he isn’t you.”
I’d left her small things that I hoped she’d see and know I was watching her. That I was with her always. A bunny in the field. The drawings through the condensation of her hotel windows. The bunny stickers on restaurant menus where she frequented.
“Do not cry for me, love. I wasn’t meant for this world. I am darkness… Thank you for showing me a splinter of the light.” His voice is a mere whisper.
