When someone is on their deathbed you can gauge the quality of their life by looking at the list of people they wished they had said yes to. If there are only a handful of opportunities they wished they’d said yes to, then that’s a fairly solid life. If it’s pages and pages of potential lovers, first dates, jobs, road trips, new drinks, different clothes, different apartments, different favors, then that’s a life that wasn’t lived. That’s a life that was softly hugged in the shadows. A life that was barely caressed, jaded even from shirked experiences.
