Hajoon gazed at Yeoreum, and as she looked up at the curly-haired fairy in his eyes, they each broke into a smile.
There was something about the laundromat that always made her feel warm and calm. As though someone was telling her, so what if there’s a stain on your heart? I’ll get rid of it for you.
A gentle scent – the warmth of company – surrounded him, just like the first day he’d stepped into Yeonnam-dong Smiley Laundromat.
Several turns later, he finally caught sight of the blue gate. He’d grown up in this house and only moved out when he got married. When had it become so unfamiliar?

When they exhaled, their breath wasn’t heavy like cigarette smoke, but formed wispy vapour clouds that veiled their smiles for a second before dissipating.
