“Your bedroom is so huge you could have fifty husbands in here,” Miska said as she entered the dressing room and stopped. I saw her eyes widen in the mirror. “Wow.” I smiled. “You like?” “You look like a goddess.” Miska gaped. “No, you are way prettier.” I snickered, continuing to stare at myself in the mirror. “I knew there was a reason I kept you around.”
“You seem sad. Most pairs are so happy they can barely contain their excitement.” I looked down at my hands, twisting my ring. “Not sad, not really. I wish Neverra and Imogen were here. You’d like them, and they’d like you too. Plus, Logan, Cameron, and Xavier, I know they would be giving Samkiel a hard time, but he needs them, too. And I just wish… I just wish my sister was here.
She was so unused to receiving compliments it made me want to burn Jade City twice.
I opened the door, and Reggie paused, beaming with pride as he looked at me. “What?” He shook his head. “My apologies. I have seen this outcome in so many variations, but this one is my favorite. You look…” He paused, meeting my gaze, and I could have sworn the fate had tears in his eyes. “Like you have found your home.”
I stood again, wringing my hands as I paced. “You’d tell me, right? I don’t think Dream Reggie would lie. What if he changes his mind?” Reggie clasped his hands behind his back. “I can tell you with a hundred percent accuracy that there is no vision I have ever seen where he changes his mind about you.”
I tugged at a loose strand of my hair, but Miska reached out and swatted my hand away. I pouted at her but took a step toward Reggie, determined to do this. “On Onuna, a bride would usually have someone give her away. Typically, it was her father, but Gabby and I always agreed that when she got married, I would walk her, you know? And I don’t have anyone.” The words were so hard to say. “You have been closer than a friend to me for a while now. You’re the closest thing I have to a father figure in that I-kidnapped-you-from-another-realm type way. You have been here guiding me, even on my worst

So, do you want to be my stand-in daddy?” “Never repeat those words.” He rubbed his brow before dipping his head slightly. “But, yes. It would be my honor to escort you, Dianna.”
She nodded and cupped my cheek, her lips slanting over mine. I closed my eyes in what I knew she thought was appreciation. But I was imagining Camilla, trying to chase away the feel and taste of the bitch touching me.
Dianna was a loose end, and regardless of what she told Kaden, Nismera would not allow her to live.
Fear! Fear! Fear! The Queen of Rashearim.
Reggie continued to guide me forward, and I finally gathered the courage to look toward the front of the room. My breath hitched. There, atop a raised dais, he waited. Samkiel was breathtaking.
He was a king awaiting his intended queen.
I didn’t know how I’d ever looked at or touched another before him. This was it. He was it. He was my everything.
This was love. This was what it felt like. What it was supposed to feel like. I finally understood why others would go to war for it and clash or rage at its demise. I knew if I lost him and his love, the universe would quake at the mention of my name.
“By my blood, I am made. In sickness and in health, I am by your side. Sworn to you and no others, I am forever yours. My heart remains yours for eternity and after. Forever awaits, and from today onward, you and I will be one in heart, body, and mind. These words, this oath, are engraved on my soul.”
my husband’s
“This is my happy face.” “Ah. Do you wish to know a secret?” I nodded. He leaned down and whispered, “I’d sell the world to see it every day.”
“Cameron would have already done something absolutely mischievous, Xavier at his side. I’m sure Logan and Neverra would have asked us to dance several times, Imogen would have several guards falling at her feet, and I’d make sure she didn’t go home alone.” He rested his cheek on the top of my head as we continued our slow dance. “You know them so well.” “I want another big ceremony when we’re all together again,” I asked, leaning back.
Sami.”
“So, how do you feel about being called my husband?” His face lit up. “So much better. I never have to hear you call me your friend again.”
“I just love you.”
“I love you, Samkiel, and I don’t need a soul to feel that.”
One beat, then two, and even with the dazzling music, his heartbeat was my favorite song.
“We’re married.”
He was my missing piece, and he was finally where he belonged, utterly and completely with me.
I thought I was a rage-filled, damned beast before, but if someone took this from me, I’d make the leader of evil look like a saint.
“I am sorry for lying to you. Truly, I am.” I held his gaze. “You can feel that, right? With these?” His eyes searched my face before he nodded slowly. “I feel your sadness, but I did not need the rings to know that.” His thumb passed over my ring. “I did not mean what I said back then. I do trust you more than anyone. I was just hurt. My entire family has lied and kept things from me. I... you… I just wanted you to be different.”
I wanted to pretend we were still this epic destined love, even if I’d ruined it.” His face softened as he placed a kiss on my palm. “You didn’t ruin anything. Mark or not, you are all I see, all I want. Destiny be damned, right?” “Destiny be damned.”
“You still want me?” He bit at his bottom lip and lifted one brow. “Yes, why else would I marry you?”
“Sami.”
Today made me whole.
“We are married now, yes?” Confusion flooded his eyes. “Yes.” “That means I am your queen, yes?” The corners of his mouth lifted in satisfaction. “Yes.” “Therefore, you obey your queen, right?” Heat flared in his eyes, and I was mesmerized as silver flooded his irises. “Yes.”
Samkiel went rigid as my hand swept a pass over my sex. My fingers drew smooth, slow circles around my clit. Pleasure speared through me, and a moan parted my lips. I loved seeing the way he watched every stroke with feral, wild need. “Dianna.” His voice was a warning. “I am not this strong.” My smile turned devious. “You move, I stop.” He whimpered.
“First, I would make sure you could no longer touch what is mine.”
“And after you thought you couldn’t take anymore, I’d fuck you so hard that the next time you even thought of touching yourself without me, all you’d feel was the aching flesh of where I’d been.”
“Sami.”
“Baby,
“That was for leaving you.” My heart squeezed, and then my lower belly clenched as he dragged a finger to his lips, licking the remnants of my orgasm from his face. “Multiple orgasms for leaving me?” My laugh was hoarse and weak. “Leave me more often.”
akrai.”
“I love you. I love you. I love you.”
“Mine, mine, mine. MINE!”
“Akrai.”
“Not like this, not tonight,” he groaned. “I need to be inside you. Now.”
“I love you,” he whispered. I smiled up at him, sliding my thumb along his lower lip as if I might touch those words as well as hear them. “I love you,” I said, and even to my own ears, they sounded like a vow.
“Sami,
“Who do you belong to?” he growled, pulling out and thrusting deep again. “You.” Another deep, powerful thrust that had me crying out and my body rippling around his cock. “Again,” he demanded. “Tell me again.”
“I’m yours! I’m yours! I’m yours! I’m yours!”
He gripped my hips in both hands, holding tight, making sure I stayed on him as I shattered around him. He growled and pulled out, fighting my body’s hold on him. Without pausing, he thrust back into me, so deep this time my belly clenched.
“My akrai. My Dianna. My love.”
