Ghosts affect the space around them; they have to or we wouldn’t have a word for them.

The girls made it impossible to dwell, they interrupted everything by existing.

Perhaps to live as a wife and a mother was to blunt yourself in a way that he didn’t understand.

Something dangerous has been lifted off the earth, but if his understanding of it is right, the earth remains the exact same weight.

‘I’ve just been thinking about all these buildings that get left behind. And then someone else moves in, and it’s like having people put their own skin on your skeleton and expecting you to be fine with it.’
