I do the only reasonable thing anyone, but especially someone in a cult that almost got sacrificed and doesn't know how to fight can do and I stab him.
“You brought me forth by blood and by vow, no others have managed to do so. You are special. You are meant to be mine.”
“If it’s so easy peasy, how am I supposed to take out the Founders?” “The old-fashioned way. Murder.”
You would do it, even without him. We all know it. You’re braver than the brains you have, Buffy. The only difference is now you won’t get yourself killed.
“We will try this Sunday’s way, but if it fails, I’m killing them all.” I follow Wrath’s gaze and fear courses through me, but a smile pulls at my lips. “Only if you promise to make it hurt.”
“I would have your laugh ringing in my ears as I rain your retribution down on every last one of them. Your laughter will be the finest music to my ears while I rip this town apart, dear one.”
It’s their god, the one they worshiped and killed for, that’s smiling down on them while I butcher them.
It’s going to be the picture perfect small town night where nothing bad can happen but that’s a lie too. I’m the bad thing that’s going to happen.
“Can I help? With the crime, I mean?”
I know he would tell me not to come. He would want me to run and save myself. I was raised to obey the man I would marry, to be a dutiful wife. Just like I was raised to be a docile daughter, but I will not listen to Wrath now. I will not let evil, cruel men break and destroy the only being I have ever truly loved.
“Have fun getting your vengeance dear and make sure to let us know when you’re home!”
I am ashamed to say I gave up when I thought you were gone. There was no reason for my heart to beat or my soul to be free without you.”
