The Final Scene

Favorite stories are full of friends to visit when you have nobody else.

Takes a minute to wrap your brain around the fact that you have to keep yourself alive by making sure you stay a prisoner. It’s an infuriating mind fuck.

If Brooke didn’t know any better, she’d think he believes her. That she’s trying to serve him, take care of him. The confidence of a less-than-mediocre white man.

She wants it to last, this feeling of being with someone. The togetherness. That’s what she’s aiming for. Sex is just a vehicle to get there.

“You’ve been through a lot, but at the core, that thing inside you that you hate so much, it’s what’s kept you alive. It’s strength, passion, and power. It’s you. I like it. I like how you are.”

The thing that annoys her to no end about him might just save her this time.
