“Shhh, baby,” he said, pulling my thighs apart. “It’s been too long since I’ve had you on my tongue.”
“Goddess,” I cried out as he devoured me like a man starved. “Yes, you are,” he agreed. “Now, let me worship you.”
“Maybe it just felt right. Being with you.”
“I’ve never wanted anyone the way I want you,” I admitted.
“I want to take care of you, too.”
“You’re going to be the death of me,”
Now, my girl was in my arms, and it was everything. And in a few more nights, she’d be my wife.
“Zain.” More tears came from her eyes. “I can’t lose you.” “You won’t,” I promised her, kissing her tears away. “It wasn’t easy to find you. I’m never letting you go again.”
“You’re mine, Luna.”
Because her happiness was the most important thing to me.
“You made me a promise,” she said. “We have a deal. So you can’t go getting yourself hurt and go back on that.”
“An eternity wouldn’t be long enough with you,”
“I’m going to kiss you now, wife,”
“I vow my never-ending allegiance to you. That you and you alone shall wear my crown. My undying fealty is yours, my queen. There is no other in the worlds who should have it.”
“I won’t hurt you,” he promised.
“You never have. I feel safe with you. I need you to know that.”
“Leave it on. I want to see it when I fuck you. Nothing but my crown.” He lifted my hand. “And my ring.” The possession in his voice was clear, but it was hot.
“I need to be inside of you,” he groaned. “It won’t be soft or sweet. I—” “You can be rough with me,” I said, meaning it.
“Break me. Ruin me.”
“You’re the one who has ruined me,” Zain said,
“Luna,” Zain said, mesmerized. “You’re glowing.”
“Look at you, so fucking beautiful. You shine so bright. Brighter than the moon.”
“Mine,” he growled,
“You look like mine.”
“I am,” I agreed. “I’m yours.”
“Mhm. It’s what we do to claim our mate. So everyone knows that you’re mine.”
“Luna. You’re my mate.”
“You were made for me. You’re everything I’ve ever wanted,” I said, voice low against her neck. “Everything I’ve ever needed.”
“I wanted you to choose me, not to be forced or without a decision. But I’m a selfish bastard, Luna. You deserve so much better than me.”
“Marking has to do with scents, but it merges ours together.”
“Haven’t I already proved to you I don’t want you to stop?” She kissed me softly. “That I need you as much as you need me?”
“Luna,” I moaned. “Need you. Need this.” She bared her neck to me in invitation. “Then claim me,” she whispered, guiding my mouth to her neck. “Please.”
“I’ll never give you up.”
“Don’t tease me,” she begged. “I need you inside me. Please.”
Let them hear me making my wife scream in pleasure. No one else would ever touch her again.
In that moment, I didn’t care if she marked me, if she drew blood, because she was mine and I was hers, and nothing else mattered. “My mate,” I groaned. “My wife.” “Yours,” she agreed, and I brought our lips together, kissing her deeply as we both chased our own climax.
“I want to see you swollen with our child.”
“I’ll need an heir,” I choked out. But that wasn’t my answer, not really. “Before I met you, I’d never let myself even dream about this. About what our future might look like. I figured the likelihood of me having any kids was small.” I ran my hands up her back, a light touch that had her shuddering under it. “But I can’t stop thinking about what it would be like. To have a little girl who looks just like her mom.”
My hand rested over her stomach. “Are you going to be a good girl and let me put a baby in you, Luna?”
“My name.” I rasped, thrusting hard. “You say my name when I’m fucking you.”
“That’s my girl,” I said against her forehead, continuing to fuck her through it. “My wife. My queen. My mate.”
“Fill me up, my mate,” she begged. “I want your cum.”
And I wanted—Fuck, I wanted everything. With her. Always with her. Even if I knew I didn’t deserve it.
“Fuck.” He growled. “You smell so good.” “Yeah?” I bit my lip, looking up at him. “What do I smell like?” “Mine.”
“You were born to be mine,” he said, rubbing his nose against mine. “My queen. My equal. I believe that. And whatever powers the fates gave you, even if your only parlor trick is iridescent skin, I don’t care. I just want you.”
No woman was worth the time or energy, not until her.
She was my first in every way that mattered.
“She was a queen in her own right.” My mother’s face filled my vision. “You remind me of her, actually.”
“I don’t like the idea of anyone hurting you,” she admitted. “Even if he is your father.”
“If you wanted me inside of you, Moonbeam, all you had to do was ask.”
