“I want to be courageous, I swear. I just would prefer to be courageous inside my house.”

But scared is a feeling, not an excuse.”

“You forget how well I know you. We’re like old cellmates. We know each other’s crimes.”

Joy is quieter than people think it is. Especially the joy of getting back something you thought was lost forever.”

You have hearts, and they don’t, so there, you have the high ground.

“Any benefits to kissing a knight?” Rafe asked. “Several. Undying gratitude. Extra Christmas present. He’ll follow you anywhere.”

Brave and stupid felt good on her. A good fit.
