For the women who got tired of waiting for a hero.
“You are worth dying for. Worth fighting for.” His voice is barely more than a rasp in his chest. “Worth everything.” He smiles. “My boy.”
You must live. I’d tried. Good gods, had I tried. But here I found myself dying in the throne room once more, insides spilling as another person I loved was taken from me.
“Can you please stop fucking her with your eyeballs?” Ella hissed.
I was going to fucking destroy him and he would never see it coming.
I was not a pawn on the board for him to sacrifice. No, I was going to take this fucking king down.
“You will. I’ll be there in bed with you, just the other side of the veil. Lie on the left side and place your hand in the middle. I’ll hold it all through the night.”

“Be clear, all of you”—Bastian surveyed the table with a look that could’ve turned fire to ice—“I love this woman. If our fates were different, I would marry her a million times over. But regardless of contracts, you will treat her as though I am her husband and she is my wife. You will listen to her. Obey her orders. Treat her like the fucking queen she is. Do you understand?”
“My Wicked Lady.”
