I tried meditation once and found it impossible. How are you supposed to just sit there without thinking for five entire minutes? That’s like not breathing for five minutes. But I don’t say that.

She rolls her eyes. “All right, all right. But, Millie, walking is good for you. It’s slimming.” Would punching her in the face be slimming? Because that might happen today.
Oh my God, this detective knows everything. I squirm in the plastic chair, wondering if he knows what color underwear I’m wearing right now. I wouldn’t be surprised.
Enzo knew. He figured out Ada must have been the one who stabbed Jonathan after he discovered that the knife he gave her was the murder weapon. That’s why he was so quick to take the blame. I hate him for doing that. But also, I love him more than I have ever loved him before.
I suppose nobody ever suspects the housemaid.
