Traditionally, the field of ADHD research has mostly been deficit-focused, exploring what is “wrong” with people that have ADHD and how the “disorder” can be corrected. Today, however, many ADHD researchers are interested in strengths-based approaches and finding the positives of having ADHD.1 We are seeing more people embrace it as a unique and positive way of thinking and being, challenges notwithstanding.
