His nostrils flared, and his eyes fell on her belly. “You really want to bring a kid into the world working for a man like this? What kind of mother are you—?” That was enough. I jerked him back by the collar of his sports jacket before he could complete his filthy question and marched him toward the door.
“She’s been hearing my voice all this time,” he murmured. “Yep. I’d say she’s formed an opinion of you.” My fingers twitched again, this time with the need to run them through his thick, dark hair and ruffle it up a little. “Lucky for me, she won’t be able to tell me for a couple years.”
She was up and down often, hurrying to the restroom multiple times a day. I’d read up on the reason this might be happening, just in case it was a sign something could have been wrong, and I was both relieved to find out it was normal and fascinated by the graphics I’d come across of the way a woman’s internal organs would make way for their growing fetus.
Just so you understand how vital you are to me as my assistant, I’m running ten minutes late for a meeting because I chose to write you an email instead of getting in the car waiting for me downstairs. You never would have let that happen.
“I don’t know why your home is in this condition, and I won’t ask you to tell me, but I can’t leave you here. I have a big house with several spare rooms. Plenty of space for you and Josephine. Come now.” “To your house?” she repeated flatly. “Yes. To my house. You can stay as long as you need.”
“What is this?” I asked. “A pumping room.” “But there’s one downstairs. I don’t need anything special.” He shook his head. “You don’t have to share now. I had the space available. It wasn’t any trouble to convert it into a room for you. If it’s not suitable, tell me, and I’ll have the necessary changes made.”
“Hug,” he softly demanded. “Okay.” I circled my arms around him, my stress from the last twenty-four hours slipping as his heart thumped under my cheek. And then, there was a light pressure on the top of my head that disappeared as quickly as it had come. I must have been mistaken, but I swore it felt like Elliot had kissed my head.
“The only thing I want you to do is lie there and switch off your mind as best you can. Don’t worry about the amount of time I’m going to spend with my face in your pussy. I’m doing this for myself as much as you. I already know I’ll want to stay down there all night and I haven’t even tasted you. Your scent is enough. Do you understand?”
