It is a sin, not only to do bad things, but even to think about bad things. —ZOROASTER

In order to be a good walker, you need to walk a lot; in order to be a strong runner, you need to run frequently; in order to be a perceptive reader, you ought to read as much as you can. The same is true of your soul: if you become angry, you must know that you not only perform evil, but you also create an evil habit, and you increase your potential for further evil. —EPICTETUS

Only in the storm can you see the art of the real sailor; only on the battlefield can you see the bravery of a soldier. The courage of a simple person can be seen in how he copes with the difficult and dangerous situations in life. —DANIEL ACHINSKY
You should abstain from arguments. They are very illogical ways to convince people. Opinions are like nails: the stronger you hit them, the deeper inside they go. —DECIMUS JUNIUS JUVENALIS
The more urgently you want to speak, the more likely it is that you will say something foolish.
Thought is the glorification of truth; therefore, bad thoughts are those which have not been thought through to the end.
Establish your purpose when you are alone and without temptations. —JEREMY BENTHAM
If you have difficult times, if you suffer from the loss of loved ones or from fears about the future, remember that life exists only in the present and direct all your thoughts and memories to this present. All your anguish about the past and your worries about the future will disappear, and you will feel freedom and happiness.
The more humble a person is, the freer and stronger be is.
Emerson said that music helps people to find the greatness in their souls. The same can be said about any form of art.
One of the worst things possible is to follow the rule: “Be like everyone, follow the crowd.”
During the day you should behave in such a way that you can sleep at night in peace; and in your youth you should behave in such a way that you can live in your old age in peace. —INDIAN PROVERB
Childhood is the period in which underlying convictions are formed. Therefore, the most important part of education is the selection of the things of which a child should be convinced.
Old fortresses are destroyed, monuments to kings are demolished, old age ravages our bodies. Only the teachings of kindness are never ruined or affected by age.
