I want her to burn for me, even if it means with hatred.
She looks at me, shocked. And then she smiles, bright and big like the night sky hanging above us. I fear she could rival the stars.
“Jealousy looks good on you, Gray,” I murmur, my fingers still cupping her chin. Her eyes flick between mine, full of a familiar fire. “I’m not jealous.” My gaze lingers on her lips before traveling down the length of her. “Then you just look good.”
Her head is crushing my arm. And I fear I’d never move again if it meant she stayed beside me.
“You cannot be nothing when you are everything to someone else.”
“Maybe I’m fine with being a fool. So long as it’s for you.”
How to speak to women and—” I snort. “You mean flirt?” “No, that’s always come naturally, darling.”
“Because the next time I lay a hand on you, I only ever want it to be in a caress,” he says softly.
She’s nothing but a tangle of limbs beside me. I hesitate to wake her, if only so I can stare at her longer. But I’d rather her company than anything else.
Her laugh alone could cure the most corrupted parts of me, and that is exactly what it’s done since the day I met her.
I wrap my arms around his neck. He is my anchor, and I am willing to sink, so long as it is with him.
She was supposed to be my forever. Now I’ll watch her become someone else’s. Because the beast doesn’t get the beauty.
