To the amount of glory hole research done for this book. You’re welcome.
“Obviously sucking strangers’ dicks for money,” she says with an eye roll.
I want to know what color her eyes are, and
“Oh, grow the fuck up,” Lincoln says.
“You heard me. You haven’t liked a woman in forever. If you like her, who cares about all that bullshit? Be a man,”
“You. You’re my fucking problem.” “We said we would forget about it, that we’d move on,” I reply, wanting to look away from him, but I can’t. “Yeah, well, I can’t fucking forget about it.”
“Now go to my bedroom, undress, and wait for me to come in there and eat you out.”
“I do. Do you?” She shakes her head, and I lick her navel and grab her hips, nipping at her skin. “Baby, you’re so pretty it fucking hurts.” I slide my tongue down to her pussy, tasting a mix of her and the remnants of me coming inside of her. She tastes like the best worst idea I’ve ever had.
“They deserve to be happy,” she replies. “So do we.”
I always thought the phrase when you know, you know, was bullshit. Especially since Penny has been in my face this whole time. But after everything we shared, I know she’s my person. She’s the one I’m supposed to be with.
“I’m a whole ass man, I can get myself home.”
“I want you in my bed. I want to finish that stupid fucking show with you and feed you breakfast and fuck you into my mattress,” he says.
“I can’t stop thinking about you, wanting you, needing you. It’s all your fucking fault, so you have to deal with it.”
“Your Alabama secret is safe with me,” he says. “Gavin, get the fuck out,”
“I’m going to give you time to think. I didn’t intend for tonight to happen, but I’d be lying if I said I’m not glad it did. I’ve tried to stop thinking about you, to stop wanting you. I know you feel the same way. You kissed me back. Despite everything, you want this too.”
“I don’t want another life lesson, Lincoln. I want a life partner. If you really want me. This,” she says, pointing between the two of us. “Then I need to know it’s for keeps.”
“Please don’t break my heart or take away my family,” she says, looking down.
“You’re Penelope Abigail Myers, the most gorgeous, selfless, funniest woman I know. You hate mornings, love pets and babies, watch shitty tv shows, and you can’t sing for shit.” My mouth gapes open and he smiles. “You love the sun and it loves you back. You hate overly loud noises and rude people.” He pushes my hair behind my ear. “You’re strong, stronger than anyone gives you credit for, and you’re the best fuck of my life.”
“Plus, Lincoln can just get a hotel room with two queens. He doesn’t even need to get you your own room,” my aunt Maggie suggests. “That truly is so convenient,” Gavin suggests.
“Your secret is safe with me. I mean, wow, holy shit. But also… she makes sense for you,”
I’ve completely fallen for Lincoln. And in the process of that, I think he’s helped me fall in love with myself.
“Because I’ve never been this happy. You make life worth living, Penny, and I want to spend the rest of mine with you proudly on my arm, my ring on your finger, our kids running around. I want everything and I want it with you.”
“Mom, Oliver needs to go because I’m not interested in dating anyone, because I’m… I’m married,” I say, holding up my left hand and she gasps. “Holy shit,” Gavin whispers. “Oh, fuck,” Jessa adds in. “What am I missing?” Maggie asks, looking at me.
“When is the last time you remember Lincoln being happy? When he wasn’t moping around sitting by himself in the backyard. He fucking smiles now. It’s terrifying, but it’s because of Penny,” Gavin says,
