Research continues to find that psychiatrists are more likely to diagnose Black men with schizophrenia and that Black people are more likely to be prescribed antipsychotic medications—and at higher doses. In a 2018 meta-analysis of fifty-two different studies, researchers Charles Olbert, Arundati Nagendra, and Benjamin Buck found that Black Americans are 2.4 times more likely to be diagnosed with schizophrenia than white Americans.
