The Goodbye Cat

“A climbing cat, a drawing cat, a carried cat and, to the very end, a considerate cat. A cat of many talents, for sure.”

This was a man who, after all, didn’t care much about animals. A guy who, when asked what was his favorite animal, replied, A hyena. Not exactly what most people would say. Ask him what he liked about hyenas and he’d answer, They keep low to the ground.

He was, when all was said and done, a good father. Troubled, troublesome, yet utterly adored by a lone cat who could love no one else. No more to be said.
