But this guy was like my fantasy on crack. My naughtiest day dream come to life. The walking embodiment of allure.
Because now that I’d found her…Now that I could breathe…You could fucking bet I would never let her go again.
I couldn’t wait to not be a stranger to her anymore. I wanted to be her best friend, her everything. It was the only ending I could accept.
“If you were my girl, there wouldn’t be anything that would keep me away.”
"Someone would be a fool not to wait for you, sunshine."
The way he was staring at me. It was like he wanted to eat me alive. Like he was starstruck by my mere presence. Like I was his good thing in life.
“You should probably put him on notice then, sunshine,” he murmured with a slightly crazed grin. “Of what?” I whispered. “Of the fact he’s about to lose his girl.”
I returned to the bar, where Lincoln was wrapped around Monroe, his tongue down her throat. Awww, young love. Couldn’t wait for my tongue to return to Blake’s throat. Or whatever the romantic version of that was.
“I’m hard for you every fucking second of every fucking day. I’m obsessed with you, crazy over you in fact. I can’t stand to be apart from you for any length of time. So when you tell me you hate this perfect fucking body that I worship with every part of my fucking soul…well, we can’t have that, sunshine.”
I’d painted my number, #24 on her cheeks. She thought it was cute, but I was just trying to be over the top possessive.
“Hurt me, sunshine,” he murmured, grabbing my hand that was still holding the razor blade, and pulling it up to his chest. “Every time you feel pain…hurt me instead. Let me take it from you.”
“You're crazy about me, aren't you, Ari Lancaster?” He grinned, and the butterflies inside me, the one that looked like his tattoo…they went wild. “Fucking insane for you, sunshine.”
