Loyalty never goes unpunished.

But our feelings often know truths which our reason can’t see:

There was no fun in a secret that could never be told: the enjoyment came from stashing it away and watching it appreciate until it could be cashed in.

A treat was in no time considered a Right. And, such is human nature, though the performance of this duty would appear to bring no pleasure, its neglect would occasion the most bitter complaint.

‘If you’ve got a problem, do something about it. If there’s nothing you can do, worrying won’t help.’
