People finally had a reason for the nickname they gave my brothers and me. The monsters of Las Vegas. My monstrous side had come out to play but the revelry had only just begun.
“Adamo’s not the hero in this story. Nor are you or my father. I’ll be the hero in my story.”
“My turn. I have some trust issues when it comes to you and my cock.”
“There’s no place I’d rather be than at your side, even if it involves brutal revenge.”
Dinara smiled strangely and kissed me. “To think that I’d ever fall for an Italian mobster—” She snapped her lips shut, eyes going wide. The high from the torture was nothing to what I felt now.
“She was a monster and never deserved to be your mother. You are lovable and I love you.”
“You love me?” “Yes, even if I’m breaking our keeping it casual pact. I don’t care. I won’t hide my emotions. I fucking love you and you better deal with it.” I let out a strangled laugh. “I love you, too.”
I wasn’t a kid anymore, but Remo’s protectiveness hadn’t really caught up on that yet.
“If Grigory lays a hand on you, he’ll pay the consequences, Adamo. You are my brother and I’ll rip his Russian ass apart if he touches you.”
“You are becoming too much like me, Adamo,” Remo said. “I thought you’d be happy.” “You were supposed to be the good Falcone.”
“I waded through blood for your daughter, and I’ll do it again, even if it’s my own, because Dinara is worth shedding every last drop of my blood for. I won’t give her up, no matter what you do or what you say. And if it takes torture and death to prove my feelings for your daughter, then that’s what I’m willing to do. I love her and no force on this earth can shake that, so if you don’t want me to be with your daughter, if you want me to give her up, then you’ll have to end my life today.”
“Everything for you, Katinka,” he said in a low voice before he kissed my temple.
“I should have known my emo kid brother finds himself an emo rocker chick.” I blinked. “The role of Ken and Barbie in the family are already taken so we had to settle for the emo couple,” I shot back before I could think it through. Remo cocked an eyebrow with that look of dark amusement always lingering on his face. Savio actually spluttered with laughter. He clapped Adamo’s shoulder hard. “Now I know why you chose her.”
Savio flashed Nino a grin. “Then you’ll have tattooed almost every member of our family. It’s becoming a heart-warming tradition.”
He gave Dinara a look. “I hope you’re the sensible of the two of you.” “I love racing and got my belly pierced in a dingy back-alley place that also sold second-hand cell phones.” Nino sighed and got up. “I think you two are a good match.”
“There won’t ever be another day without you in my life.”
