For å være helt ærlig så irriterte boken meg ganske mye, Augustin selvpisker for de aller minste synder en kan tenke seg: At han likte å leke og dro på pæreslang som barn, at han gråt i sin mors begravelse, at han liker mat, at han likte å lese Virgil... Traff meg ikke så godt, selv om det er et interessant, historisk dokument.

Dette er en ganske tilgjengelig og underholdende måte å bli kjent med både Augustin og tenkningen hans.

Tunglest! Men inneholder mange gullkorn. En ærlig beskrivelse av en kristens liv!

Augustin av Hippo levde frå 354 til 430 og la grunnlaget for både teologi og filosofi i mellomalderen. Dette er boka der han skildrar livet sitt og ein del av tankane sine. Mykje av det kan vanlege menneske i dag kjenne seg att i. Ein del kan vere litt tungt å kome seg gjennom, men her er òg mykje godt tankegods som gir meining og kan vere fint å ta med seg. Det er òg fascinerande å lese om korleis livet arta seg for 1600 år sidan. Tilrådd!
