Trans SFF by Trans Authors - #ownvoices
Speculative work of any subgenre (fantasy, science fiction, horror, magical realism, anything you can think of) and any length, where:
* there is at least one major trans/nonbinary/gender nonconforming/genderqueer/etc. character
* the author publicly (!) identifies as trans/nonbinary/gender nonconforming/genderqueer/etc. (PLEASE DON'T OUT YOUR WRITER FRIENDS WHO ARE NOT OUT)
I would like this to be a comprehensive list of everything that's out there, not a list of recommendations. So if you see something relevant, do please add it even if you dislike it / think it's bad representation / etc.
Also, let's not get hung up on specific definitions of trans?
With shorter work, you can add the magazine it appears in if there is no individual entry for the story. I guess. I'm a bit confused about how best to do this!
#ownvoices was started by Corinne Duyvis to refer to fiction about a marginalized group written by a member of said marginalized group.

Also, people asked if stories by a trans person about a different kind of trans person are OK (for example agender people writing about bigender people, binary trans people writing about nonbinary trans people, etc.). I think this is fine... I would be concerned if I saw a pattern where people consistently write about characters more marginalized than themselves, but I don't think that holds up so far. Also, it seems to me that Goodreads stopped allowing authors to add their own work? If you are an author, comment here and I can put your stuff on the list!
I am currently reading If I Was Your Girl. Unless things are going to take a sharp unexpected turn, it's not SFF.
Hi, I was wondering if someone would add my book Gods and Insects. It's gothic horror. One of the characters is trans. So am I. Thanks.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
