Chimemerie this is a no vote.twilight wins

message 2: by Rosie (new)

Rosie This is a no vote. Harry Potter wins

message 3: by Sonya (new)

Sonya Tedesco I remember reading Harry Potter when I was teenager and I loved it. But if I had the ability to read Twilight then, I wouldn't know which one would win. I think as time has gone on, Twilight will still win in my eyes.

message 4: by Jose (new)

Jose Ok...Harry Potter is awesome. The series has been so intricately carved that no one dares touch the subject of whitches and wizards after JK Rowling wrote it. Ever since Twilight came out EVERYONE wants to write a book about vampires...BUT i have to say that Twilight has set an image of modern day vampires. Both have had an impact but Harry Potter is just more in the hearts of people that Twilight. ITs about a kid growing up, something everyone can relate to and Twilight is about love which everyone can relate to. SOOOO...they rule eachother out. Im still voting for Harry Potter

message 5: by Simms (new)

Simms Molly Harry Potters got to be a clear winner, no competition in my opinion but invite your friends to vote ☮

message 6: by Jose (new)

Jose This list has failed...only about 20 votes per book...

message 7: by Simms (new)

Simms Molly Well I did only make it like 2 nights ago so not really :)

message 8: by Sandra (new)

Sandra HARRY POTTER WINS OBVIOUSLY!!!!

message 9: by Rarietty (new)

Rarietty Who voted Hunger Games? *Glances at title of list

message 10: by Simms (new)

Simms Molly I no :/ But its there now :/

Iviana (The Sign Painter) Mʘ‿ʘP Although I love Harry Potter, and have read Twilight (and mind you, hated it), having a whole "HP vs. Twilight" debate is completely illogical. (Note: I'm a Hufflepuff) Why? There completely different genres of books. Potter is all about witches, and wizards, and spells, and all that other good stuff. Twilight is about paranormal romance. Comparing a romance novel to fantasy novel is like comparing a binder to a LEGO.

So to have the HP - Twilight debate is utterly stupid.

message 12: by Simms (new)

Simms Molly They're different genres but people have strong opinions on both and people usually enjoy one rather than the other, also my friends have strong opinions on Twilight saying its better than HP so I made this list to prove them wrong.

So not stupid and pointless! :)

message 13: by Burcu (new)

Burcu Sorry,I vote them all:))
I think all books are very epic

message 14: by Chimemerie (new)

Chimemerie this vote is definitely not stupid.i love both but nothing will change my mind.Twilight still wins

message 15: by Devyn Kelly! (new)

Devyn Kelly! Harry Potter is definitely better. Not that Twilight was bad but... New Moon was poorly written, I am just going to say that right now. It was just really boring. I still like Twilight, but Harry Potter is just better.

message 16: by Laura (new)

Laura In fifty years, Harry Potter will still be read by teenagers, and Twilight will have faded into obscurity.

message 17: by Chimemerie (new)

Chimemerie whoa hold it right there.i don't think so.i love harry potter but the potraying of humans as horrible goes against my taste.so no twilight will not fade into obscurity.it is just the same as saying that macbeth won't be used as literature in the next 50 years.

message 18: by Preetea (new)

Preetea Harry potter IS OBVIOUSLY BETTER.J.K ROWLING MAKES people feel what the characters feel. While twilight i do NOT feel anything. And i read harry potter 4 years sgo but i still remember the story. I read twilight 4 months ago , i do not remember anything except for the characters names.

Christina Iviana (The Sign Painter!) wrote: "Although I love Harry Potter, and have read Twilight (and mind you, hated it), having a whole "HP vs. Twilight" debate is completely illogical. (Note: I'm a Hufflepuff) Why? There completely differ..."

The improper use of their/they're/there is utterly stupid.

message 20: by Christina (last edited Apr 06, 2011 02:17AM) (new)

Christina Harry Potter wins hands down. Not only because the content is so much better, nor because one feels a much deeper connection to the characters (I cried dozens of times during Harry Potter, but not once during Twilight, unless it was tears of exasperation), and not only because the characters had much more depth than Bella with her "ooh, which boy should I take?" (gotta get down on friday!), but because Harry Potter, at its essence, is about good versus evil and the importance of love and loyalty to your friends, etc etc etc, whereas Twilight seems to be about the importance of having a boyfriend. Not gonna lie, I read the entire Twilight series because I did really want to find out what happened in the end, but there is no argument here about who should win.
I don't even know why I'm debating the matter, to be honest. Sorry if I've offended anyone, but... yeah, not going to apologise for what I've said :)
I just have to add that it seems inconceivable to me that people would even vote Twilight over Harry Potter. Not that I don't believe in freedom of choice, only that I simply don't understand how it's possible.

Exactly! Thank you for saying that! I couldn't have put it better myself! They are completely different, but, if forced to choose, after reading Twilight, I would have to say HARRY POTTER!!!!!

message 22: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Harry Potter wins hands down for me :)

message 23: by Alexis (new)

Alexis They are both different from each other.
Harry Potter wins, though.
Twilight was just about a girl wanting to have sex with a hot vampire that she keeps on saying she loves but didn't want to marry.

message 24: by Muthulx (new)

Muthulx I actually don't like romance stuff( Movies and Books).
Maybe that's y I love Harry Potter, Eragon & the likes.. (Very little romance).
I've not read twilight or seen twilight and not planning to either.
True Story: Some years ago I read some 20 pages of first book of twilight series and truly got sick (not joking!)

message 25: by Karishma (new)

Karishma is this a joke? HARRY POTTER WINS HANDS DOWN, it would win even if it was trying to lose. there is no chance that some soapy drama about a creepy vampire can win. and VAMPIRES DONT SPARKLE!! poor dracula must be rolling in his coffin

message 26: by Karishma (new)

Karishma Christina wrote: "Harry Potter wins hands down. Not only because the content is so much better, nor because one feels a much deeper connection to the characters (I cried dozens of times during Harry Potter, but not..."

HEAR HEAR!! HP RULES

message 27: by Muthulx (new)

Muthulx Harry Potter it is.. It wud win even if JKR had killed off every character in the end ( just hypothetical) - even Harry!
It's because though we wouldn't like the ending, the brilliance of story telling through all 7 books would shine more than Cedric(Is that his name?) ever did..

message 28: by Simms (new)

Simms Molly HP <3

message 29: by Lea (new)

Lea I loved them all!! I just have to say something... I don't understand why everyone keeps saying Twilight is poorly written. It was written - that's what counts. We can all understand the content whether we like it or not so it can't be complete gibberish. Just because it wasn't written to your liking doesn't mean it's bad. Stephanie Meyer must have some modicum of talent. How many people knocking popular books have a bestseller themselves?

message 30: by Lea (new)

Lea Christina wrote: "Harry Potter wins hands down. Not only because the content is so much better, nor because one feels a much deeper connection to the characters (I cried dozens of times during Harry Potter, but not..."

Christina - what do you mean it's inconceivable that someone might choose Twilight over Harry Potter? Maybe someone likes vampires over wizards. Maybe someone prefers a simpler plot more than an intricate one. Some people don't want to cry over characters but do want an unforgivably sappy romance. Hope I could clear up that impossibility for you.

message 31: by Lea (new)

Lea Iviana (The Sign Painter) wrote: "Although I love Harry Potter, and have read Twilight (and mind you, hated it), having a whole "HP vs. Twilight" debate is completely illogical. (Note: I'm a Hufflepuff) Why? There completely differ..."

They are different genres, but can still bring out similiar things in people who read them. There is a bit of romance in HP and and fantasty elements in Twilight. For some readers, romance and fantasy are one. They are also genres that overlap.

message 32: by [deleted user] (last edited Aug 11, 2014 01:11PM) (new)

I LOVED both series, I can't choose.

message 33: by bean (new)

bean :) I loved both, no matter how much hate Twilight gets, I'm a proud Twilighter and Potterhead. :P

Me too!

message 35: by Killian (new)

Killian Hilll Harry Potter is the best. Twilight isn't as good as HP.

message 36: by Noura (new)

Noura Harry Potter is the best, but I have something special Twilight

message 37: by Noura (new)

Noura mean,
I know that Harry Potter's best But Twilight has something special Harry Potter and Twilight beautiful What do you think Guys Two books has something special Am I right

message 38: by Andy (new)

Andy Rose I think a governing point with this quiz is the twilight books are seen more as a female focused book whereas the Potter books appeal to boys and girls in equal quantity?

For me, Potter wins hands down, the depth of detail within not just the magical/muggle world but also the portrayal of the the immediate world they live in - Hogwarts - makes the depth of characters even more engaging.
