The endlessly photoshopped white dress

Well, is isn't always white, but most of the times it is. Please add to the list when you spot them so we can keep count.

And yellow.

Misfit There ya go. My book cover dejavu shelf was getting awfully cumbersome, so I started a few lists to track some of the heavily used artwork and dresses. Lol, on one of the other ones, the only other person who voted on the list was one of the authors :D

Misfit Only way to keep track of them.

Kim Love your list and added Mr. Darcy's Rival by Kara Louise and The Netherfield Affair A Dark Darcy Mystery by Penelope Swan

Misfit Add away.

Nenia ✨ I yeet my books back and forth ✨ Campbell The Just-About-Average Ms M wrote: "It has gotten so bad that I won't consider a book with one of these stock dresses on the cover, or worse, the ubiquitous headless dress genre that adorns each and every Tudor story imaginable."

They're trying to foreshadow to what happens to the Tudor women. :X

Misfit It's sad that I had to create list(s) to keep track of them all.

Shannon Elizabeth Heffner I find these lists so amusing! I am constantly finding myself frustrated with the obvious re-use of stock photos in HF bookcovers. Same dresses, same artwork...it feels kind of phoned in these days. I totally agree with The-Just-About-Average Ms M on this topic, because I also find myself judging a book by its reused cover.

Nenia ✨ I yeet my books back and forth ✨ Campbell I think I understand it more with indie authors and indie books because it's so much cheaper to use stock images than it is to commission an entirely original cover. But for more famous authors and books, I don't really get it - if you have the money and the means to be original, why not take advantage of it?
