Off the beaten path holiday books

So, I don't want your standard ABC Family 'All is sanitized and safe' Christmas/Holiday books in this list. I am looking to compile a list of Holiday themed horror, comedy and the like that actually engages the reader who wants more than watered down chicken soup for the soul. It is the intention to focus on the winter holidays but what the heck let's do ALL the holidays! Does anyone know of a good Arbor Day murder mystery?
